Case Studies
CNIB
The Canadian National Institute for the Blinds relocation from the existing buildings to the new structure included approximately 400 computer workstations, in addition to a large number of specialized Braille devices.
The move was complicated by the construction schedule, the requirement to keep a portion of their services available at all times, and the fact that the equipment was scattered in small groups of 30 to 40 computers across multiple buildings.
Our team used a phased approach to relocating the equipment, minimizing the disruption to staff and clientele of the Institute. In addition, our proprietary inventory tracking systems were invaluable in keeping track of the location of the equipment at all times.
Honda
Honda Canada and Honda Finance are in the process of reorganizing their staff and assets. The process has included both internal and external moves over the past few years, with the size of the moves varying widely. In addition, there is often little advanced notice for specific projects.
MIT Consulting has assisted Honda in this process by providing additional I.T. staff to boost their internal staffing for their relocation projects.
Warner Bros.
Warner Brothers relocated from their old office in North York, to a new and larger location nearby. The move involved 500 workstations, and their internal I.S. department had expressed a desire to management to outsource this portion of the process in order to allow them to focus on relocating their server room.
We assisted in the disconnect / reconnect process, and our inventory tracking and testing procedures identified inoperable pieces of equipment during the move, which resulted in a significantly reduced workload for Warner Brothers’ technicians, as well as decreasing the downtime during the relocation process.
